Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has failed to stop a legal proceeding challenging her fitness to hold public office filed at the High Court by the Law Society of Kenya.

The petition filed by Lawyer Elizabeth Mukira seeks to declare Kihika unfit to be the governor following a forceful takeover and closure of War Memorial Hospital on January 23, 2024.

In her ruling, Judge Patricia Gichohi dismissed a preliminary objection filed by Kihika, where she argued that the court had no jurisdiction to hear the petition.

The judge ruled that the preliminary objection raised was not clear on points of law and therefore defective.
