The Kenya Meteorological Department has listed Nairobi among the regions set to experience cold weather for the next five days.

In his weekend advisory, Kenya Met boss David Gikungu urged Kenyans to brace for cold nights of up to 6°C in several regions across the country.

Nairobi, which was one of the counties listed under the Highlands East of Rift Valley, was forecast to have temperatures of 6°C for the next five days, including this weekend.

Other counties within this region that would experience similar temperatures include Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka-Nithi.  Kenya Meteorological Department Director David Gikungu speaking during a conference in Nairobi on May 6, 2024, and a family keeping warm during a cold night.
