The government, through the Council of Legal Education, has listed 18 universities across the country approved to offer Bachelor's and Master's of Laws degrees in Kenya.
Through a newspaper notice issued on Tuesday, July 8, CLE released the full list of higher institutions, which included the University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, and Strathmore University.
UoN, Kenyatta, and Strathmore were issued licenses to provide Bachelor of Laws degree education valid until December 2025, September 2028, and November 2027, respectively.
In addition, the Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA), Maseno University, and South Eastern University of Kenya were also issued with LLB legal education licenses valid till November 2027. Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo addressing the press.
