Protests have erupted in Embu town following the arrest of Manyatta Member of Parliament Gitonga Mukunji on July 7 over Saba Saba Day violence.
The residents are now demanding the immediate release of Mukunji, who was arrested at the height of the Saba Saba Day protests.
In an image seen by Kenyans.co.ke, on Tuesday, July 8, residents blocked roads using stones as they burned tyres, paralysing transport along Embu- Kianjokoma road.
Mukunji was arrested at 3 pm on Monday, during the demonstrations over allegations of inciting violence during the protests. Embu-Nairobi Highway blocked by protestors on Monday, July 7.
