Several families have suffered losses after properties of unknown value were destroyed by fire in the Kiawara Slums in the Majengo area of Nyeri County on 8 July 2025.
The fire, which was reported on Tuesday afternoon, burned down several houses in the slum.
In the video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, residents are seen attempting to put out the fire by using buckets of water as dark smoke oozed out of the iron sheets.
According to reports, firefighters arrived at the scene after about an hour when the 20 houses were already destroyed.
