Kajiado County government through its Department of Medical Services and Public Health, has condemned the attack that occurred at the Kitengela Sub-county Hospital during Saba Saba demonstrations Monday, in Kitengela town.
In a statement to media houses, Kajiado County Executive Committee Member for Medical Services and Public Health, Alex Kilowua, stated that a group of individuals who had brought in an injured person to the facility, turned unruly, intimidating medical personnel and disrupting the provision of emergency services at the Hospital.
He revealed that the goons caused unnecessary panic, interfered with operations, and endangered the safety and dignity of patients and that of the facility's frontline health workers.
While confirming that no Hospital staff or patients were physically harmed during the incident, Kilowua remarked that targeting of a healthcare institution is unacceptable, as it undermines public trust and access to critical medical care. "Any act that threatens the safety of our frontline workers or undermines essential medical care is not only irresponsible, but also indefensible.
