Engineer Philemon Kandie has resigned as the Director General of the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), three years into his five-year contract.

In a letter dated July 11, 2025, Kandie formally notified the Board of his decision to step down from the role, citing a three-month notice period with his last day in office set for October 10, 2025.

He also requested to proceed on his 45-day annual leave beginning July 14, 2025. "This letter serves as a formal notification of my resignation from the position of Director General at Kenya Rural Roads Authority, giving a notice of three months effective 11th July 2025," wrote Kandie. "I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition during this period and take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the Board of KeRRA for the support and incredible journey throughout my tenure." Following the resignation, the KeRRA Board of Directors, in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, has appointed Jackson Magondu in an acting capacity.

Magondu currently serves as the Director of Planning, Design and Environment at the Authority. "The Board of Directors, in consultation with the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Roads and Transport, wishes to inform that Eng.
