The Uzalendo Half Marathon is set to bring hope to students in Baringo County as leaders and sponsors came together for a media briefing in Nairobi to officially launch the much-anticipated race that will take place on Saturday, July 19 in Eldama Ravine.

Presiding over the event, the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage, Hannah Cheptumo, reminded Kenyans that the impact of their support will last for years. "Let me take this opportunity to remind and tell you that some of the things that you do now will be remembered for many years to come," reiterated the CS as she launched the Marathon.

Cheptumo announced that this year's Marathon aims to raise Sh25 million to help bright but needy students complete their secondary education. "This new plan fits well with my Ministry's work because we are changing lives by giving scholarships and other help to students who really need it.

The money raised will create a fund that will help students for many years.
