The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested two senior officials from the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) office in Kirinyaga over a bribery scandal.  The arrests targeted the NGAAF chairperson and the county coordinator.

The duo was apprehended following a report alleging they received a Ksh60,000 bribe.  This illicit transaction reportedly took place on July 14, just days before their apprehension by anti-graft detectives.

This substantial payment, allegedly issued by a government contractor, was intended to improperly facilitate the payment for goods valued at a staggering Ksh2.77 million.  A section of the EACC headquarters, Integrity Centre in Nairobi County Photo EACC Alongside a third suspect, a procurement officer, the officials had together demanded a total of Ksh270,000 from the contractor before they received the Ksh60,000.

The said third suspect has, however, yet to be apprehended, but he has been ordered to report to the EACC Central Region offices on Monday.
