Wambui Nyutu has been dismissed as the Vice Chairperson of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) over alleged continued involvement in partisan political activities.

NCIC Chairperson Samuel Kobia confirmed Nyutu's dismissal on Tuesday, July 22, following a Special Commission Meeting held on July 22, 2025, to discuss her conduct.

According to Kobia, Nyutu had violated both her oath of office and the Law by involving herself with political figures, despite her position. "The Commission unanimously resolved to relieve Ms.

Nyutu of her role as Vice Chairperson of the Commission with immediate effect," Kobia said in a statement.
