The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned of cold showers, cloudy conditions and strong winds in several regions of the country from August 1 to August 5, 2025.

In its latest five-day forecast, issued on July 31, the department stated that parts of the Central Highlands, the East and West Rift Valleys, the Coastal region and north-western Kenya will continue to experience rainfall.

Intermittent cold and cloudy weather is also expected, particularly in the Highlands, the South-eastern lowlands, and the Rift Valley.

The department has also alerted residents of the Coast, the South-eastern Lowlands, North-eastern Kenya, and North-western Kenya to strong southerly to south-easterly winds exceeding 25 knots (approximately 46 km/h).   Nairobi residents cross a flooded road in the Central Business District (CBD).
