The Members of Kericho County Assembly have once again filed a motion to impeach embattled Governor Erick Mutai, barely a year after he survived another impeachment attempt.
In an official statement addressed to the County's clerk and dated August 6, Sigowet Ward MCA Kiprotich Rogony notified the clerk to receive the motion for the governor's impeachment. "Kindly find attached the following documents for your action: Proposed motion for the removal by impeachment of Dr.
Erick Mutalas, Kericho County Governor, Evidence in support of the said proposed motion; and Signed list of Members in support of the proposed Motion," the letter reads in part.
In his motion, the MCA indicated that he had attached documents to support the impeachment motion, including evidence in support of the motion, a signed list of MCAs supporting the motion, and the proposed motion for the removal of the governor.
