The Ministry of Labour has announced the release of Ksh4.6 billion for the payment of Inua Jamii beneficiaries for the months of June and July.
In a statement by Social Services and Senior Citizen Affairs Principal Secretary, Joseph Motari, on Thursday, the Ministry announced that over one million beneficiaries would receive Ksh4,000 each instead of the usual Ksh2,000 after going unpaid in June.
Following the disbursement, the government urging the beneficiaries and their caretakers to collect the funds. "The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, through the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, has released Ksh.
Four Billion, Six Hundred and Seven Million, Six Hundred and Sixty-Eight Thousand (4,607,668,000) for payment to 1,151,917 Older Persons and Persons Living With Severe Disabilities enrolled in the Inua Jamii Program," the statement read in part.
