A month after his dramatic arrest, Manyatta Member of Parliament Gitonga Mukunji has opened up about the details of the incident, which occurred in July.
Speaking on Friday, the MP alleged that there had been plans to assassinate him; however, he claimed the plans failed and that the perpetrators were forced to simply arrest him instead.
According to the MP, he conducted personal investigations and uncovered an alleged plot to fill his car with explosives and frame him.
Afterwards, he alleged, they would have gunned him down, accusing him of ferrying the explosives.
