President William Ruto has nominated and redeployed several envoys in a shake-up of Kenya's Foreign Service. "In an Executive action, the President has realigned the country's Foreign Service to optimise performance and enhance service delivery," State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said in a statement.
The changes affect several diplomats, including career diplomat Ambassador George Orina, Kenya's envoy to Ethiopia, who has been reassigned to Dublin, Ireland.
Orina will be replaced in Addis Ababa by Ambassador Galma Boru.
Public Service Commission chairperson Antony Muchiri has been nominated as ambassador to Turkey, while Catherine Kirumba Karemu is set to become High Commissioner to Tanzania.
