President William Ruto has formed a selection panel for the National Land Commission, as well as making appointments to several state commissions and corporations.
This panel will be responsible for recruiting the chair and members of the Lands Commission.
The recruited team is expected to begin their six-year term in November.
In a Gazette Notice, President Ruto announced the appointment of Jasper Micheni Mbiuki, Peris Mang'ira, Electine Nasambu, Ann Mwangangi, Bibiana Rabuku Omalla, Nichola Letting and Rehema Dida Jaldesa to the panel. "PURSUANT to rule 64 of the Supreme Court Rules, the Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court amends the Supreme Court (General) (Amendment) Practice Directions, 2020, set out in the Schedule to Gazette Notice No. 9586 of 2020 in the manner set out in the Schedule hereto," the notice reads.
