The Kenya Parliamentary Journalists Association (KPJA) unveiled new leaders on Wednesday, August 27, following a closely contested election that saw a majority of the top positions change hands.
Radio Africa Group's senior political reporter, Moses Odhiambo, was elected chair, narrowly beating Daily Nation's David Mwere with 34 votes to 14. Odhiambo succeeds NTV's Duncan Khaemba, who retires after serving the association for two consecutive terms.
Meanwhile, Radio Citizen's Edwin Obuya secured the position of secretary general unopposed.
Obuya had received the most votes early on, prompting his challengers to withdraw before the final vote.
