Opposition leaders have given President William Ruto's government a seven-day ultimatum to release all the people abducted in the recent past or face mass demonstrations.
Led by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his DAP-K counterpart Eugene Wamalwa, the politicians said if the government fails to produce the youth allegedly abducted by the State, they will rally youths for a nationwide protest to demand justice for the victims. "The court has given the government, specifically Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja and Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, seven days to produce the missing young people, and we want to tell President Ruto that if the seven days ultimatum lapses without any action, as opposition leaders, we are going to lead young people in the mother of all mass demonstrations to demand justice," said Wamalwa.
Speaking in Mumias East in Kakamega County during the Peter Salasya Super Cup Tournament, Wamalwa said the leaders would be reaching out for a political formation with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other like-minded leaders to defeat President Ruto come the 2027 general election.
Kalonzo accused President Ruto of using outdated tactics to silence his critics and vowed to lead other like-minded opposition leaders in liberating Kenyans from the chains of the Kenya Kwanza regime.
