Kenya's tourism sector is experiencing remarkable growth, welcoming a new record of 2.4 million international arrivals in 2024, marking a 15 percent increase from the previous year.
The United States retained the top source market, contributing 12.8 percent of total arrivals (306,501 visitors) followed by Uganda (9.4 percent) and Tanzania (8.4 percent).
The data comes from the 2024 Tourism Performance Results, released by the Tourism Research Institute and unveiled by Tourism and Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano at a Mombasa hotel.
Miano highlighted the sector's impressive growth, reinforcing Kenya's position as a leading global tourism destination saying the results showcase the industry's strong post-pandemic recovery.
