The United States has warned that attempts to form a parallel government in Sudan risk further instability, weeks after the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a Sudanese paramilitary group, signed a political charter in Nairobi, Kenya, alongside various political parties and armed factions.  In a statement issued by the US Bureau of African Affairs, President Donald Trump's government said it is 'deeply concerned by reports the RSF and aligned actors have signed a transitional constitution for Sudan'.  "The U.S.

is deeply concerned by reports the RSF and aligned actors have signed a 'transitional constitution' for Sudan," reads part of the statement issued on Wednesday.  Adding, "Attempts to establish a parallel government are unhelpful for peace and security for the country and risk further instability and de facto partition of the country." PCS Last month, the RSF signed an agreement in Nairobi with the aim of establishing a "Government of Peace and Unity," effectively creating a parallel administration in territories under RSF control.

The plan was crystallised on March 4.
