The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have called for action as the ongoing clashes at the Kisii and Transmara border have continued to build tension in the region.
There has been heightened tension in the areas of Kisii and Transmara following renewed clashes along the Transmara West-Bomachoge Borabu border in Kisii County and Narok County over alleged cattle theft.
In an official statement on Thursday, the NCIC condemned the clashes and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities.
As of Thursday at least two people were killed and a dozen others injured over the clashes. "As stewards of peace and Cohesion in Kenya, we are deeply concerned by the ongoing clashes in Transmara and Kisii which have resulted in loss of lives, destruction of property, and heightened tension among communities.
