The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has condemned the ongoing inter-communal conflicts in Samburu County, which have led to the loss of five lives and the theft of 800 livestock.

On March 11, North Deputy County Commissioner Samwel Mwangi confirmed that at least five people had died following a deadly cattle rustling incident in Baragoi, Samburu North.

He added that police had managed to recover some of the stolen livestock as they continued to pursue the bandits and retrieve the remaining animals.

Following this incident, NCIC Chair Samuel Kobia released a statement on Wednesday, March 12, raising concerns over the tensions in Kilepoi Kawap, Baragoi area, stating that such violence is barbaric and inhumane.
