Nairobi County Chief Environment Officer Geoffrey Mosiria, has singled out Pipeline estate as one of the city's worst areas for noise pollution, citing the proliferation of strip clubs in residential areas and loud church services.
Mosiria, speaking on NTV, warned that such establishments in residential areas could have a negative impact on children. ''You find that someone has decided to open a strip club in a residential area on the first floor, while families live on the second and third." "Imagine your child walking down the stairs and seeing naked women…and they also rent some rooms upstairs.
Kids are seeing things they are not supposed to see,'' he said.
Defending his strict enforcement of noise regulations within the capital, which has drawn criticism for alleged heavy-handedness, Mosiria also took aim at churches in the area. "The problem in Pipeline area is that churches seem to believe their God allows them to make noise for everyone.
