A Form Three student from the Elburgon DEB Secondary School was allegedly shot and killed by police during a protest near Elburgon Police Station on Friday, March 14.

The residents of Elburgon had taken to the streets to protest the mysterious death of a popular mechanic, Godfrey Ngugi (also known as FB), whose body was discovered after he went missing on March 9.

According to the protesters, the student's body was abandoned by the roadside for hours before the police retrieved it and took it to Molo Sub County Mortuary.

The unrest, which lasted more than two hours, saw the residents clash with the police, throwing stones and attempting to damage the police station, which they accused of being a crime scene.
