Kenya Power has denied online claims that power was willingly shut off at the ACK Church in Mathira where former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was attending a church service.

Taking to social media on Sunday, March 23, Kenya Power clarified that areas that had been earmarked for maintenance had been notified a day earlier. "Good afternoon sir, Kindly note that various parts of Nyeri County and its environs were scheduled for a planned maintenance today, 23rd of March, as circulated on our platforms," part of the statement.
