Four individuals were on Thursday sentenced to different jail terms amounting to a total of 115 years in prison for various murder crimes they committed separately in Kisumu County.
In a series of landmark rulings delivered by Justice Shariff Mwanaisha, Basil Omondi Otieno, also known as Aboi, was handed a 30-year sentence for the brutal murder of Ismael Salle Asman in Kombedu village in the lakeside city.
Otieno was facing charges before the justice department after fatally stabbing Asman multiple times in the chest during a confrontation and then fleeing the scene.
He, however, managed to evade arrest for a year, only to be apprehended later, according to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
