Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga's appearance at President William Ruto's tour in Kieni has raised eyebrows, given his vocal criticism of the Kenya Kwanza administration following the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Kahiga warmly received President Ruto and his entourage, exchanging pleasantries despite his alignment with Gachagua, a Ruto ally turned foe. "Joined H.E.

Kithure Kindiki, local and national leaders during a developmental tour in Kieni East, Sub-County, Nyeri County," Kahiga wrote on Facebook.  "My administration is committed to supporting the National Government's projects for the benefit of the Nyeri citizenry." The governor also affirmed his  support for development projects initiated by the President, stating, "Today the President has brought to us development, and we want to assure him that no one should bar him from stepping in the region.
