Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba has called for the firing of Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua to be held accountable for tolerating the increasing rates of job scams.
Speaking during a Senate session on Wednesday, April 2, the Senator claimed that the CS is incompetent since he is unable to suppress the metamorphosing trend and that President William Ruto should immediately dismiss him.
According to Orwoba, some Kenyans have also ended up being conned at the office of the Ministry of Labour as they seek job opportunities abroad. "I want to call upon the president to fire the cabinet secretary of labour because he knows what is happening, and he knows exactly why we are upset," she said. "This person is incompetent, and his interests have been seen because he is not there for the people of Kenya, and I want to say this with all fairness: let him go home," she added.
Orwoba has further castigated other leaders who claim that Kenyans should be 'wise enough' not to fall into the traps of the scammers and emphasised that many jobless Kenyans are desperate for jobs.
