George Oduor, a long-term aide to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, is dead.

Reports indicate that Odour passed away at Nairobi Hospital on Wednesday evening after being hospitalised for two weeks.

Oduor had been a close associate of Raila for many years,  often seen as his bodyguard, and was a familiar figure at Raila's events and engagements.

In the wake of his passing, Orange Democratic Party's Communications Director Phillip Etale mourned him, crediting him for the impact he had on his life. "This is one man who stood by me at all costs.
