The National Police Service (NPS) has addressed the Law Society of Kenya's (LSK) claims regarding Inspector General Douglas Kanja's alleged participation in a political rally.
On Thursday, April 3, LSK President Faith Odhiambo called out the police IG after he was spotted in Nyeri at a politically charged event with President William Ruto, who is in Central Kenya on a development tour.
The LSK chief accused the Inspector General of failing to act impartially, claiming that a person holding Kanja's position is "exempt from acting at the whims of any person or advancing any purpose that does not reflect the Constitutional principles of National Security." However, in a rejoinder, the NPS hit back at the LSK President's accusations, refuting claims that IG Kanja acted in any way that showed he was partisan with his presence in Nyeri.
