Busia Commissioner Mwachaunga Chaunga has assured county residents of their security amid an increase in armed robbery incidents at Bumala Market.

Speaking to a section of boda boda operators in Bumala town, Chaunga said the County and Butula Sub-County security team have come up with a mechanism that will help to restore security in the area.

The agreement includes increasing police patrols and coordinating with residents to ensure security through information relay.

He also acknowledged the lack of enough police personnel, where he promised that they are going to increase the number of officers in the area.
