Kenya Railways has invited Kenyans to apply for specialised train operation courses at the Railway Training Institute (RTI), as the sector anticipates the expansion of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) to Malaba.
In a notice on Wednesday, April 9, Kenya Railways said that students can apply for five railway-related programmes in the institute, which include Locomotive Driving, Rolling Stock Inspection, Locomotive Maintenance, Machinist, and Passenger Operation.
According to Kenya Railways, the application deadline has been set to April 15, 2025.
Applicants can visit the official RTI website to apply. "The Railway Training Institute, as the Centre of Excellence in the Railway Sector for the region, shall offer training in five railway-related programmes to transfer skills and develop human capacity for SGR Operations and Maintenance," the notice read.
