A matatu belonging to Super Metro Sacco was on Thursday night involved in a road accident, barely a month after the vehicles returned to the road following a suspension.

According to a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the accident occurred at around 11 pm, when the vehicle was heading to Thika from the CBD.

However, while at Ruiru, the driver failed to spot a lorry in front of him and hit it from behind.

According to occupants in the vehicle who spoke to this publication, the driver had allegedly mentioned that he was feeling sleepy and asked them to engage him in conversation to help keep him alert.
