Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has announced the government's intention to fully implement revised salaries for health workers by August this year.
The decision was reached following a meeting between the health minister and officials from the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists, and Dentists Union (KMPDU) held on Thursday, April 10.
According to KMPDU Secretary General Davji Attelah, the revised basic salaries for health workers would be implemented in August after consultations between the Ministry of Health and the Council of Governors.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Health also announced the placement of intern doctors from July 1 this year, with balloting expected to take place this month.
