The Kenya Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy downpour in most parts of the country for the next five days, beginning today, Friday, April 11, to Tuesday, April 15.
The announcement was made by Kenya Met Director David Gikungu, who said the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands, the Coast, North-western and North-eastern Kenya would receive heavy rains.
Gikungu, in his weekend weather advisory, warned the residents living in the counties located in Central Kenya, including Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi and Nairobi to brace for heavy rains for the next five days.
According to the weatherman, rains in these areas were expected to begin in the afternoon after occasional sunny and cloudy conditions, adding that the downpour would be accompanied by thunderstorms.
