The government has completed the construction of 415 schools for Grade 9 use in Nandi County, according to County Director of Education Harrison Muriuki.
Speaking during the official opening of three new Grade 9 classes at Nandi Hills Township Primary School, Muriuki said the government completed the construction in Phase 1 and Phase 2 and promised that more classrooms will be built in Phase 3 and Phase 4.
The County Education Chief revealed that Nandi County had a total of 576 Secondary Schools and that the remaining 161 schools without new Grade 9 will continue using the available classes until new ones are constructed.
Muriuki said that the Constituency Development Fund is playing a pivotal role in the construction of the new classes across six constituencies in Nandi County.
