Residents of Chemundu/Kapng'etuny Ward and the entire Nandi County at large have been thrown into a sudden mourning mood following the demise of their Member of County Assembly and also Majority Whip Julius Kipruto Keter.

In a statement released by County Assembly Speaker Philemon Melly, Keter has been unwell for the last three weeks but finally succumbed at Fountain Hospital Eldoret at 8.30am Saturday. "Keter has been unwell for the last three weeks.

He sadly lost the battle at Fountain Hospital Eldoret," the statement said.  Melly described Keter as a legend, a true servant of the people who dedicated his life to the betterment of his people. "His tireless work, unwavering commitment, and genuine love for the community will be cherished," he said.

Nandi Governor Stephen Sang condoled with the family saying, "Keter was not just a colleague but a friend and a true servant of the people.
