A fresh wave of unemployment is facing select Kenyans after the government announced the dissolution of 78 companies.
In an official notice dated Thursday, April 17, Deputy Registrar of Companies Hiram Gachugi announced that the companies ceased to operate in the country effective April 8. "Under section 897 (4) of the Companies Act, it is notified for general information that the under-mentioned companies are dissolved," the notice read in part.
From the list provided by the government, the majority of the companies are involved in financial, real estate, and land investments, while others are in agribusiness.
