Business in Raila Odinga's hometown of Bondo, Siaya County, came to a standstill on Saturday as hundreds of residents took to the streets to protest Governor James Orengo's continued attacks on the working relationship between Odinga and President William Ruto.
The residents carrying twigs and placards demanded that the governor make a political U-turn and apologise to the Orange Democratic Movement de facto over his recent remarks.
He has continued to criticise the working partnership between his party boss and Ruto.
According to the residents, it was wrong for the governor to criticise the partnership, maintaining that it was a disrespect for the party. Further, they demanded that should Orengo fail to meet the demands, he should resign and give a chance for a new county chief to be elected in the country.
