Cabinet Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development Geoffrey Ruku has announced plans to migrate the services of passport registration processing from the immigration offices to the Huduma Centers.
Currently, for passport registration processing, Kenyans must visit immigration offices, but CS Ruku is advocating to decentralise the services to Huduma Centers.
His plan aims to increase accessibility, reduce congestion, and speed up processing times, making it easier for Kenyans to obtain passports without visiting overstretched immigration offices like Nyayo House.
Speaking on Tuesday morning after an impromptu visit to the Huduma Centres in Kiambu and Thika, Ruku revealed that Kenyans have been advocating for the services to be transferred to Huduma Centers.
