Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has opened up about why he was dismissed as the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General.

Malala, while speaking during an interview on Spice FM on Thursday morning, attributed his removal from the party leadership to a misunderstanding with President William Ruto.

The former UDA principal disclosed that his fallout with the Head of State began after he declined to sign the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

During the interview, Malala revealed that he refused to sign Gachagua's impeachment because the latter's dismissal would destabilise the Kenya Kwanza administration.
