A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier is currently cooling his heels at the Kitengela Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) after being detained for the passing away of his lover.
The soldier, attached to the Kahawa Garrison Defence Forces Constabulary, had reportedly visited his girlfriend in a rented apartment in Kitengela over the weekend when tragedy struck.
According to a police report, the 24-year-old woman developed breathing difficulties during the encounter and shortly afterwards lost consciousness. "Around 11pm, the deceased became unconscious and developed difficulty in breathing, where he (the suspect) raised an alarm and the caretaker responded," the report reads.
