The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that the next cohort of medical interns will be posted starting July 1.
In a statement on Tuesday, the ministry revealed that the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) would conduct balloting for pre-intern graduates on April 30. "The Ministry of Health will post the next cohort of Medical interns with effect from 1st July 2025," part of the statement read. "To facilitate a smooth posting process, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) will conduct balloting for pre-intern graduates on Wednesday, 30th April 2025." Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale during a meeting on April 23, 2025.
Twitter MOH The placement list generated from the balloting exercise will be used to guide the posting of interns to their respective internship centres.
Outcomes for this online balloting exercise are expected to reach interns on the same day, while the ministry will receive the results on May 2. "The ministry remains committed to supporting the growth of health workers and strengthening healthcare service delivery across the country," the statement concluded.
