Police in Makueni Sub county have launched investigations into a fire incident at Emmanuel Springs High School Thursday night.

The 9.30pm inferno at a boy's dormitory burned all personal effects for 81 students while they were in class.

Speaking to the media in Wote town Friday, Makueni Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Paul Langat said the cause of the fire has not been established adding no life was lost. "The cause of the fire is not known, that is why we have deployed the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Officers at the scene to establish what ignited it," said Langat adding nothing was salvaged. "We have advised the school management to assist the students with few personal effects like mattresses, blankets and uniforms to cushion them," he said.

The DCC disclosed that Kenya Power will help to establish whether the fire was caused by an electric fault while Officers from Public Works will go there to assess the condition of the storied that was affected.
