Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has strongly condemned the chaos witnessed during the match between Shabana FC and Gor Mahia FC at Gusii Stadium.
In a press release, the Federation confirmed that preliminary reports from various health facilities within Kisii County indicated that at least 72 people were treated after sustaining injuries during the chaotic match at the Gusii stadium. "FKF strongly condemns all forms of violence in our stadiums.
Football must remain a sport that brings people together - not one that puts lives at risk," the statement read in part.
The Federation noted they were working closely with relevant authorities to establish the circumstances that led to the unrest, adding that disciplinary measures will be taken upon conclusion of ongoing investigations.
