A section of residents from Kakamega County want the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NGCDF) and National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) anchored in the constitution.

The residents were giving their views during a public participation forum on the proposed Constitution of Kenya Amendment Bill, 2025, held at NGAAF offices Amalemba in Kakamega.

The Parliament is seeking public views through public participation forums on whether to entrench the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NGCDF), National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) and the Senate Oversight Fund into the constitution.

Enock Sokoli, a bodaboda rider from Huduma Centre stage in Kakamega said that the bodaboda sector has benefited immensely from NGAAF where they got support to undergo driving lessons and acquire driving licenses. "We have also been empowered through purchase of tents for our self-help groups enabling us to make extra income aside from our daily bodaboda business," he noted.
