A multi-agency security team on Tuesday foiled what might have been a terror attack on Kenyan soil after recovering a cache of explosives on a public service vehicle (PSV).

According to the DCI, the multi-agency security team, on routine patrol along the Kanyonyoo-Embu Highway, intercepted a Meru-bound passenger bus from Mombasa, where they discovered the cache of explosives.

The detectives indicated that the explosives were found during a random search of the bus after the officers flagged it down following an intelligence tip-off.

During the incident, the officers found a medium-sized white carton branded with the logo of a local milk production company.
