Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang'ula, has instructed all Members of Parliament to submit their security details to Parliament for a fresh vetting following the murder of Kasipul Member of Parliament Charles Ong'ondo Were.

Speaking during the MP's requiem mass at the Consolata Shrine in Westlands, Nairobi, Wetang'ula emphasised the need for fresh vetting to ensure that the bodyguards are well known and prevent such an incident from reoccurring. ''Going forward, I want to encourage each one of you to submit back your security details for vetting.

For us to get to know what kind of security you have, 'kikulacho ki nguoni mwako," Wetangula ordered.

MPs are entitled to at least one police bodyguard, with an additional two officers stationed at their homes, either in the city or upcountry.
