Going forward, police officer recruitments will be done online, Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja told the Senate Committee on National Cohesion, Equal Opportunity and Regional Integration.
Speaking on Friday, the IG revealed that it was necessary to change the recruitment process to curb corruption cases reported during the process.
He was responding to a question by the committee on how the National Police Service was going to sensitise the public who turn up in thousands for the recruitment against being duped by corrupt officials in fake police job promises. "The numbers that turn up for these recruitments are actually overwhelming, because of the numerous cases of corruption, but this must stop, and the way we can stop this is by leveraging technology to close the gaps for corruption," Kanja said.
