The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) has obtained an extradition order against an Afghan national who will now be flown to the US to face several charges, including trafficking of unlawful medication.
The suspect, a former deputy speaker of Afghanistan's parliament, who was arrested in Nairobi three weeks ago, is facing other serious charges.
He is also expected to be charged with being in possession of heavy weaponry, including military-grade weapons.
This is after a Nairobi court endorsed a warrant of apprehension issued against the deputy speaker by the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
